Parents of Wickwire (POW) Needs Your Help!
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Parents of Wickwire (POW) is seeking volunteers
who may be able to help out with fundraisers and events throughout the
school year. Right now, we do not have enough members to run bigger schoolwide
events like the Spring Fiesta, and this will greatly impact our ability to
provide special opportunities for the students at Wickwire Academy.
If you are able to help in any way, and/or are interested in joining POW on a
regular basis, please contact Mrs. Shaw at the school at (902) 354-7660.
Thank you for your support.

School Advisory Council (SAC)
We are looking for one parent to join our SAC. Please contact the Ms.
Thorburn at the school if you are interested.

Health News
We recently have had confirmed cases of head lice at the school. In each case, proper treatment has been carried out and appropriate follow-up procedures recommended.
Please continue to check your child’s hair on a regular basis. Remind your child not to share articles such as hats, headbands, etc. with others. We ask that if you find lice, or more likely nits, on your child’s head please begin treatment immediately, and please inform the school. Local pharmacists can help you select an appropriate shampoo for treatment.

Safety Reminders For Parents
We would ask that you report to the office when coming to school for
whatever reason. If you are visiting a classroom throughout the school day,
please obtain a visitors pass from the office. Adults should not be in our
classroom hallways without a visitor pass.
We are happy to accept items in the office that you need to drop off to
students during the school day. Classes end at 2:45 pm. Send a note in your
child’s agenda if you know you will be picking up your child at the end of the
day. This is important information for the classroom teacher.
Please, report to the office at the end of the day to let the office know you
are here to pick up your child.
